Pretty good to use

The device works just fine and can handle the tasks more easily. The storage is good, and it helps me to store all my data from most of the device to a centralized storage for this. Since I needed this device just for my home, it is quite okay for me to have a not so great storage size for the PC. Otherwise, the drive is pretty useful for anyone.

The NAS device was something I needed for my home to get connected from almost all the device so that I could back up my data more securely in one go. The drive hasnt let me down in any way possible to this date. The performance has been top notch with the speed around 150 MB/s being just an average for the transfer. And it is pretty handy in the budget.

I bought this WB Red 1TB NAS after a long consideration. The device is easy to use and can be installed very easily by the help of the official web portal or with many forums available on the net. I needed a HDD badly for my computer, but having bought a NAS gives me the advantages of linking all other device in the near future to a similar storage for collection and protection of all the data.

The drive is basically used by me as a storing option for just two devices- my laptop and my office computer so I dont lose my data in any way possible and a smooth transfer of data happens. It can also be used for large businesses but will need a large storage option for that. At first, it may seem a little tricky for non NAS users but eventually becomes a lot easier once you are in habit of using those devices.

The drives are not only the best in class in terms of the performance, but also in terms of relibility. The 3 years warranty is beneficial if in case the drive crashes. There hasnt been any heating probems in the device since I bought it 6 months ago.

Good, but not the best

After having used the device for about 3 months since I bought it, here are my observation. Firstly, the deviice works nicely and the speed can go between 100 to 150 MB per second without any hassle. I hate that it only has a 5400 RPM speed instead of the regular 7200 RPM. After sometime, the device has developed a heating problem and gets heated after abut rough 15 minutes. It is good option for those having multiple devices like for small business, but not the best option if you can opt for a high price product.

Way better than the other NAS

The things I didnt like about this device was the disk speed which is limited to 5400 RPM and the some eerie screeching noise which sometimes come from the device. Otherwise, the device has a lot of features which comes with this. The NAS works fine and considering the storage, it can be connected to small to medium devices like DSLRs or another laptops. The device also happens to have longer Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) for the same thing. Plus, the 3 year warranty makes up for all the worries you have for the storage failure worries.
